Plantagenet Wreath - little green caps

The broom flowers are to be filled in next, all one hundred of them, and I'm starting with the little green caps at their bases (I'm sure these have a proper botanical name but I have no idea what it is!).

These are in the lightest shade of green, Madeira stranded cotton no. 1401.  The first fifty worked in satin stitch:

These are rather small and not that easy to see, so here's a close-up of a set of ten:

I'm really pleased with how it's coming along, and I'm looking forward to doing the flowers themselves next.

Silver snowdrop sample - the snowdrops

Another ghastly photo, but hopefully you can more or less tell that I've finished the satin stitch for the upper leaves and  around the edge of the snowdrops:

That's all the embroidery done - now to cut it out...

Silver snowdrop sample - satin stitch

To hold the silver mesh in place, I'm stitching over it in sating stitch around the edge; the double row of split stitch forms the extent of the satin stitch, leaving as much of the mesh exposed as possible.

My stitching looks terrible in the photo - the light seem to catch everything and makes it look much worse than it does in reality.  Or I think so, anyway - you'll just have to believe me!

I'll do the snowdrops themselves next.
